Yellowstone sequel series: Confirmation, cast and everything we know

There remains a bit of confusion regarding upcoming shows in the franchise, but the latest news clarifies the upcoming Yellowstone spin-off and sequel with new details.

After Kevin Costner dropped out of the drama Yellowstone Season 5, a sequel series was announced that would pick up after the events of the original series.

With Yellowstone Season 5 being split into two parts and delayed, it's still unclear, however, recent updates regarding the return of the original cast suggest that work is still underway behind the scenes.

A sequel to Yellowstone is in the works, but almost nothing has been confirmed about the project, including its cast.

During 2023 and 2024, it was rumored that stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Matthew McConaughey would join the sequel, but these rumors were dismissed.

In fact, Pfeiffer is one of the stars being sought for a lead role in another spinoff, The Medicine, which could be part of the Yellowstone universe.
