Yellowstone is coming to an epic finale with its upcoming final season, but the franchise will continue with a new spin-off.

is attracting Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell were previously rumored to be in talks to star in the new series, and TV Line reports that Patrick J. Adams is in talks to join them.

It will follow wealthy married Stacey Clyburn and her family as they leave New York City for Montana after the tragic deaths of her husband and brother-in-law in a plane crash.

The cast for the new series is still being assembled, with production expected to begin later this month in Montana, New York and Texas for a 2025 premiere.

You may recall that Matthew McConaughey was previously announced to lead the spin-off, but later reports stated that the actor would not sign a contract until then.

Producers are not looking at Taylor Sheridan's script. It is not known if Russell will play McConaughey or if it will be a new character, TV Line reports.

Yellowstone stars Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly and Luke Grimes will reprise their roles as Rip, Beth and Cayce in the new show.
